finals week.

yeah. i'm writing a blog post instead of studying. i wouldn't say "blogging" cause i'm not really a blogger. just a weirdy.

the big final i have to take, and i'm real worried about it, is one of those that i'm just ignoring studying for. mainly because i'm so nervous for it. and that there's so much material on the test. and there's like 119 questions (or more). yepp. so i'm completely avoiding it.

but lately, i've been enjoying some work time, some school time. some fun, relaxing times with the boy below. (see below)

i also spent nearly two straight days constructing this project. yeah, i maybe chose the wrong time to do it because i pretty much missed watching all of conference. i was a stress case. but i got a 90%. which was pretty good for me.

mandrew also came home for a little surprise visit. no one knew he was coming. except me. and maybe because we planned it less than 12 hours before he actually flew home.

i'm looking for an internship in los angeles. you have ideas or contacts.. shoot them to me! i can't wait to be done with finals. then maybe i can relax a bit. go running and get in better shape. cause mainly, i've been craving ice cream. like i do every day. and when that happens.. it's never good.

p.s. i got some new kicks? you like? they are size 12. in mens.

in new york.

i just watched this video from my dear friend's blog. it's lovely. and worth your time!!

i have been to new york a couple times.

first, in high school. i went on an amazing trip with a group from my sewing class. (i did win our school's make-it-with-wool contest, that's my claim to fame). it was a trip centered on fashion! we visited some schools there, met with fashion designers, and did sight-seeing. of course.

next, was with my fam bam. we had such a fun trip! we caught the last game red sox vs. yankees game in old yankee stadium. and got to meet ol' tito (terry francona). he's a good friend of my dad's from their playing days.

i love the city. the busyness. the lights. the streets. the cars. the noise. the shopping!

imagine. a penthouse suite above the diverse people all going their every which way. just think about that.

i get the privilege of sitting with my parents for byu football games. 44 yard line. splendid! my family has a problem with taking pictures, but we finally snatched one tonight.

please excuse the 'awesome' phone picture quality. (big v's iphone!) the camera on my dear eva decided to stop working.

p.s. how do you feel about this blog redesign? i'm not quite sure.

that did happen.

the other day, i had shorts on and was looking at my left leg. i had painful memories come back in my mind and i couldn't stop thinking about it. i had some huge scars that were very visible and now can barely be seen, which i am glad about! the scars take/took up the majority of my upper leg. it was awful. the most pain i've ever been in.

three falls ago, i was icing my leg. long story short, the ice was so cold, it froze my leg in fifteen minutes. my skin was as hard as a table if you were to knock on it. i couldn't feel my leg, thought it was no big deal. after it thawed out, i felt like my leg was completely on fire. it was burning and burning. literally burning. nothing was helping. i couldn't stop crying. it was the most pain i've ever been in. my leg swelled up all over. i can remember it like it was just yesterday. i had to keep it wrapped up for weeks. i had blisters everywhere the burn was. i couldn't wear pants. i had to wear skirts. i had cheer squad pictures and had to stand in the back because of the wrap. i had a late night flight to new york for our family vacay. i wore skirts the whole trip. too bad i didn't get more skirts! i even named some of the burn sections. tennessee, tent, washington.

now, the burn is barely visible. i think of three things when i think of this whole experience.
1. have i really been out of high school that long? three fall seasons?
2. isn't it amazing how the body can repair itself? i can barely see the scars.
and.
3. how much have i changed since then?
i have gone through my senior year in high school and 3 and 1/2 semesters of college. i have grown so much. and the thing is, life goes on. and it continues to go on. it will always go on.

yes. that whole situation did happen. can you believe it?

fever.

the other night when i came home, i was shocked to see my dad's creativeness. this is what i saw in my room..

it's a joke that i love jimmer. and honestly, who doesn't love jimmer here in provo? well across the nation? how could you not after his humble personality, great jumpshot, and to die for shoulders and jaw bones? i thought this was pretty funny. and my dad thought he was uber clever. did i just use uber?

oh, and i finally bought this movie!

one of my all time favorites now. agnes is adorable.

off to bed and waiting to watch the cougs take on yet another opponent! i'm looking forward to jimmer's performance. go cougars!

overheard.

everyone. i recently "overheard" of something that is going to take up some serious amounts of my time. anyone heard of "overheard at byu"? if you have, i am certainly out of the loop. but i checked it out just barely, and i will be on there more than once a week to hear of the funny things said at byu. how sweet is it that someone actually made a website so these bizarre comments can be posted? made my day. if you want to check it out, click here.

another thing that made my day - i saw some good friends today, made me so happy to see them and catch up in between heading to separate classes.

and. i was buying a small bagel and a water bottle. somehow my card i was paying with (i had just previously checked my balance to make sure i had enough, and yes i did..) didn't work. i was standing there as the girl kept saying, "it's not working, sorry". it was a little embarrassing, but not for me. a nice guy behind me said he would pay for me. what a nice deed! i'll probably never see him again, but it was very nice.

i'm getting excited to watch jimmer fredette and his fellow cougs play sdsu. jimmer, for me, score lots of points okay? i wish him the best. i will be starting it a little late, hopefully i don't miss tip off, because i will be at young women's. oh did i mention i am now the assistant young women's advisor in my ward? well, i am the new assistant young women's advisor in my ward. i am excited about it. wait, am i old enough to have a calling like that? i guess so.

life is good. i am happy.

gil.

we had a fun week. tim and becky and austin and addy came to visit! it was so much fun. friday was the alumni golf tournament for BYU baseball. there was an alumni game later that night that we all went to. it was 14 innings long.. that was a little long for me, but it was tons of fun! the kiddies enjoyed that.

addy doesn't like to smile at the camera.

 austin is the entertainer.

we went to the football game the next day and had fun there. here are some pictures of my cuties at the game!!

 austin loved the binoculars.
 austin and papa vinny.

next.. to the sad part. my fish, Gil, came up with a mysterious and onset disease called dropsy. i went home to my parents house on monday and looked at him. he did NOT look well. he was extremely puffy under his cheek area and his scales were pointing out like a pinecone. i looked online and thought it might be dropsy, but i have never diagnosed a fish before.. so i didn't know! i called petsmart and the lady told me it was dropsy after i explained his symptoms. she told me they had a powder that i could put in the water that might help him, but i would have to take my 2 african dwarf frogs out. i hurriedly drove up to petsmart to get the curing powder. this is what Gil looked like, definitely not well.

i divided the powder up to be proportionate to his tank and hoped it would work. i had to leave and we all went to dinner. everyone thought i was crazy when i said he was sick.. but he really was! we got home from dinner and hokulia shave ice (best shave ice i've ever had!). I told andrew that he was not well.. and to check him out. andrew took one look, and right before our eyes, Gil took his last breath and was so puffy, he flipped right on his back and was swimming upside down. i thought maybe he just couldn't swim, but we slowly saw his gils stop moving and he slowly floated to the bottom of the tank. now how many people do you know that have seen their fish die right before their eyes?? it was sad, i won't lie. i had to fish him out of the bottom.. and sent him to his grave. rest in peace, Gil.

9.18.2010

sleepy day.

today. was a great day. i got to sleep in, which i have needed to catch up on some much needed sleep! i slept at my apartment, but woke up and went to my parents house. last night my mom told me that "tomorrow (Saturday) was going to be a car washing day." so.. that's what i did. may i say, my mazda is looking nice nice. washed, waxed, and vacuumed!! andrew told me all about his adventures of the bunny blasting adventures he had last night. what a guy, this is why i love him!!
we had some fun times this summer, here are a few pictures of things we did together.
san diego for the MWC tournament watching BYU baseball play.
beach in san diego.
ghirardelli ice cream in downtown san diego.
a trip north to the rainbow sandal outlet store that left us in hours of traffic due to a rolled semi and closed freeways!
stuck in anaheim, CA, walking around downtown Disney.
buffet in Vegas before the "O"show, which was amazing!
he is a studly guy, so cute, and only deserves the best! whoever marries him is a lucky gal.
me and papa v watched the cougar game. my poor cougs! we need a win, this next weekend hopefully.
