what i'm missing.

i love being in london.
i love the cultural diversity.
i love learning new things.

but i don't love being away from home and missing this:

most favorite cauliflower soup.

breyer's ice cream.

best rice krispie treats!

yum wheat cinnamon rolls.

a family favorite, i WILL be back.

cheeseburger, lettuce and sauce only. side of fries.

best salad. in europe, salads are NOT served as a main dish.
how are these people not overly huge??

can you tell i am deprived of quality food?
alright, i'll get back to my frosties and milk, bagels, and cheese & crackers.

i know where big ben is!

today was a sprinkly, long, fun-filled day! classes weren't held today so it was a free day for us to do whatever we would like to do!
kathryn, chrisse, hilary, suzanne and i had all planned to go to central london and see the things there. it was nice to sleep in a little bit and not stress about getting to school and everything!

1. was the changing of the guards at buckingham palace! we walked through green park to get to the palace. when we walked out of the park gates, i only saw swarms of people. all along the street, the statue in the roundabout part, lining the fences of the palace. it was crazy. we were even there 30 minutes early! we decided to go further down so we could have a clear view for pictures.
the first thing i heard was the stomping of the guards and the drums. it was amazing to see them come up the street. my eye was caught on the two beautiful horses with policemen riding. these horses were so beautiful. huge mares and gorgeous. i couldn't get over it! we weren't close enough to see the actual changing of the guards process but i got some pictures of what i wanted to see.
we walked further down to see the spencer house. the house where princess diana grew up. it was fenced off but seemed very pretty from just the outside.
even further down, we saw more guards standing in their little poses. i was so excited because i wanted to go up to them and make them laugh and break their concentration. typical me, right?
well, i succeeded! i had my camera out and started taking pictures and laughing a little bit and hilary and i broke the two guards. they smirked and i could tell they were frustrated. as we were leaving, i took one last picture and the guard had his hands at his side but popped his middle finger out against his leg. flipping us off! i didn't see it but hilary did. awesome!

the palace.

got him!

these horses were so beautiful. the guard was chatting with us.

the spencer house:

green park.

the hard rock cafe was sounding pretty appealing for lunch! there was a 30 minute wait (we decided, most likely planned so customers will head over the gift shop and by overly expensive t-shirts!). we waited and went down to "the vault" where some hard rock memorabilia was stored! it was smaller than i  thought it would be, but so so cool!

pictures of the stars in the hard rock.

andrew would love this.

oh jimi.

original beatles lyrics.

and this too for andrew.

burgers, don't judge me. most american thing i have had so far.
and it was wonderful!

kathryn, hilary, me, chrisse, suzanne.

we took the tube over to the palace of westminster, the london eye, and big ben area. the weather wasn't as cooperative as we would have hoped so i didn't take as many pictures as normal!

big ben.

bad weather ruined this!

we didn't walk around long in the sleet and rain but we went straight to the imperial war museum (you should check out that link, i think there are some pictures there!) which was free. and was, i think, the best thing i have seen so far. my dad would have loved it! they even had little cubbies to store your things! points for the museum.
as soon as you walked in, planes, tanks, and missiles filled the room. it was amazing. all of these are part of the museums collection.
inside, was also a very informative and, i guess sad is the word? holocaust exhibit. it went through the timeline of the germans taking over poland and all the events that took place. so much information was included in that and it was set up very nicely. we were in the museum for over three hours!

these were the missile shells, as tall as me!

i laugh every time i see this.

this museum is a must see in london. i'm glad we went! eight and a half hours later, we arrived back at flat 2. it was a long day, but so totally worth it.
in honor of jane austen, pride & prejudice is playing here in the living room.
cheers!

i may...

i may or may not have just indulged in this ice cream!!

breyer's makes phenom ice cream anyway... so to add waffle cone AND hershey's semi-sweet baby chips is just crazy. try it, i tell you.

to go along with my "healthy" eating, i had this oven-cooked rosemary chicken today for lunch.

very tasty, and easy might i add! try that too.

last week, i hiked the Y with my parents (and the byu athletic department, me and shar were the only ones NOT a.d. oh well). it was a little chilly, then it was a lotta chilly and snowy at the top. not pleasant, but fun nonetheless.

loving this app on my phone that takes "polaroids".

taylor (yes THIS taylor) and i decided to run to gold's gym, then work out at gold's gym, then bum a ride home from willie cause we would be tired to run back, he he he. the run was approximately 2.6 miles. it was a good little run. then we worked our butts off while we were there.

side note: i am loving zumba and pilates at gold's. and we recently tried out the dirty dancing class. it wasn't really that dirty so don't judge us!

i have been trying really hard the past few months to get in shape and stay there.. it's been a challenge, but i am pleased and i feel great! dedication is hard, in all aspects of life! some days, i am tired or whatever the excuse may be, but i think of the outcome and i go to the gym anyway. i understand that my body won't be petite and tiny, but i am proud of the hard work i've put in and what has come of it! like my friend, whitney, i would love to run a half marathon. but that won't be happening this summer because i will be eating away my hard work of the past few months. just kidding, i will stay on track! you all can live vicariously through me and my travels ;)

enough posts for now. i just can't believe how fast the time is going! san diego next week, then 3 more weeks before i am on to the land of the irish. i am excited, nervous, scared, and feeling adventurous. it will be amazing to say the least.

another day!

many new pictures to come. but as of now, we have a houseful of people. and it's a good houseful at that! tim and becky decided to surprise us and show up at our house on wednesday! none of us had any idea they were coming. there is a big family wedding tomorrow (saturday), andrew's senior day baseball game, and of course mother's day on sunday (involving a phone call with adam in africa!). perfect timing. i was completely surprised when i pulled into my house, saw tim's truck, and went inside to my sister-in-law, becky, tim, and my dearly missed kids! after some tears, i am so happy they are here!

here's the cuties playing with their papa:

we are in for a crazy day tomorrow. the majority of the law family is in town for my cousin's wedding. i think the steps at the salt lake temple are going to be filled with lots of law's! it will be a cluster that's for sure. we had our own section at the baseball game. i wonder what the people around us were thinking, haha. maybe i don't wanna know...

i made some homemade cinnamon rolls last week. half wheat flower too, they were pretty tasty!

not the best picture, but rolls in action!

gorgeous taylor.

for some reason, adding pictures to this thing is not easy. one goes to the left, one to the right. and i can't seem to get two pictures to be right next to each other. maybe i'm not doing it right, but it doesn't work. tips are awesome.

what a great few days it's been. still got lots of ideas blowing through my head, but overall, it's been pretty great i think.

and loving this sunny weather!

late.

well as of late..
i have been enjoying lots of farr's ice cream and yogurtland. (only farr's is pictured below)

i decided to rock these kicks at school last week. in honor of the last day of classes? good excuse.

i am branching out lets say.

over the weekend, vegas was calling our name so we went! cougar baseball played three games and we enjoyed watching them (even though the umps were completely ridiculous, and i'm not just making that up). the weather was so nice on friday and saturday! too bad i couldn't sit at the baseball game in my swimsuit and feel okay about it.

on the way down. sweet app i got on my phone. love it

friday night's game.

how beautiful is the moon?
disclaimer: all these pictures are from my phone.

after a great weekend away, now i'm back and getting ready for finals. but no classes so that's a plus. i need to study my little brain out and get it done! plain and simple.
have you ever had something happen to you that's made you stop and rethink and reevaluate what you are doing and where you're at in your life? well that same occurrence has been part of my past few weeks. and as of now, i am done reevaluating and am moving forward. and i feel good about it. i need it.

i don't feel good, however, about the fact that i am still trying to figure out my major and what i am going to do with my life! any tips are greatly appreciated.
longest post ever? i think so. but it was much needed.
