first off, today has been a great day. (it's my birthday, and it has been just pleasant).
i owe a few posts and photographs!
saturday = designated temple day. let me tell you, it was a full day.
a few of us girls left our flat at 11:45 am for a 3 o clock session for baptisms. we purchased an extension to our oyster card (that only travels within the inner "zones" of london). this train extension was like the trains on the movies! it had the seats facing each other and small tables, kind of. i was expecting a nice captain man to come by and check our tickets and blow a whistle, but that didn't really happen. i guess things really aren't like they are in the movies? darn. after a short taxi ride, the london temple was in sight!
i've never really been to a temple outside of utah to do more than just visit the grounds but this london temple had a visitors center and an accommodations building. it was confusing, but we made it in.
the sweet workers, let's just say, they had no rush at all! it took us 2 hours to just do the baptisms. mind you, there were nine of us. it was longer than i'm used to, that's for sure. they only took four girls at a time so there was some down time. before everything started, the brother we talked to when we first arrived gave a perfect spiritual thought. it perfectly pertained to the work we were doing there at the temple. it was an amazing experience to say the least!
hilary and me.
afterward, obviously the same route back and we took to get there... some of the girls went for indian food. i am not particularly fond of curry so hilary and i headed elsewhere. we stumbled upon a yummy italian place. i enjoyed a nice child's portion of tortelloni (i didn't snag a picture of this, but we will be back in an upcoming post!) of course followed by some tasteful italian ice! they had an array of flavors and i think we chose the best ones!
fruity selection.
