okay, not really tearful but still sad as we departed.
our adventure up to scotland on our coach takes some time but stops were planned in a few places there in northern england.
tuesday was stopping in stratford upon avon, shakespeare's birthplace and warwick (pronounced warrick) castle.
the castle was very kid-friendly and had a huge campus-like grounds to eat and have activities. yes, hilary and i hiked 530 steps up and down to see the tower.
the castle was on the way to stratford and we had a bit of a longer drive until we could see the famous "house".
imagine this as your ROOM?
view from the top.

we went through a small exhibit that talked about shakespeare's life and all that museum stuff.
next was onto his house! we saw the room he was born in and learned more about his life and his family.
lovely garden.
anne hathaway's house. (shakespeare's wife).
bill's house.
